He's here!!!! Our sweet little baby boy has arrived! He was born on August 18, 2010 at 8:20am weighing in at 8lb 12oz and 21 inches long. I can't believe how fast time has gone by already, he will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. Everyday he is showing more personality and sleeping and eating better which makes me so happy! Gavin and I are totally in love!

Friday the 13th!

So today is Friday the 13th and my official due date. When my mom realized this she asked me to talk my doctor into changing it to the 14th. She didn't want her first grandchild born on friday the 13th, I am not superstitious so I didn't care but we changed it to please her. Now I realize how long a day is and I really want him here today...I don't care if its the 13th! I have tried everything, I just got finished working out on the elliptical machine for 30 minutes hoping that would do something but still no luck. Oh well, at least I know the end is near if he doesn't come by Tuesday I am being induced that day, but I sure hope he decides to come on his own before then!!!!

I'm Pregnant!

I know this is old news, but I haven't blogged in forever so I have to make the announcement that I am pregnant! Almost 19 weeks. My first trimester was ok, a lot of throwing up and eating way too much. It has officially been one week without losing my cookies and I am thrilled.
Last Friday was an amazing day for me, I felt the baby kick for the first time. I was sitting down watching Grey's Anatomy after a long day at work and all of a sudden I felt a distintive little poke about an inch below my belly button. I pushed back to make sure I felt right, and the baby kicked again. I laughed and then totally cried and called Gavin at work to tell him that their is a living baby growing in my belly. I know I seem a little slow 18 weeks later to realize this, but being my first pregnancy it really hit me and I am amazed at what the human body can do and what a blessing it is to create life. I am leaving in an hour to go to the doctors to find out if it's a boy or girl!!! I am bringing my camera so I will post soon with pictures!

Our Christmas Gift!!!!

Gavin and I just love our fabulous new camera we got for christmas from our wonderful parents! We have been wanting a really nice camera to take better pictures of Boca and our future kids. Hopefully having such a great camera will motivate me to take a lot of pictures and blog more often!

I have a new favorite thing that I wanted to share. It is called the comfort U pillow.

I just got this pillow and I love it! I have been having some lower back pain for quite a while due to work and by sleeping on my stomach. Many people including my chiropractor have told me I need to sleep on my side or back instead of my stomach because that is hard on my back. I have tried and tried, but I love sleeping on my stomach and no matter how hard I tried I would always wake up that way. Not anymore, I have had my comfort u pillow for about a week now and it has worked great. I still have some lower back pain after work sometimes, but nothing like I used to. I wake up refreshed without any aches or pains. I am glad we have a king size bed because this pillow is huge. At first Gavin was not a fan because that meant it was harder to cuddle, but now he is trying to steal it from me in the middle of the night.

Diet Coke

One of my favorite things in life is a large Diet Coke from the fountain. It has more fizz than the cans, so I have to drink it from the fountain. I know it is not good for me, but how I love it so! I have decided to say goodbye to my good friend for as long as I can, but my goal is at least one year of not drinking any soda at all. It has been 19 days. I am missing it, but I am finding a new love for water, which I know is great for me....goodbye Diet Coke, I will miss you!

Bodega Bay

Gavin works at the Lafayette Park Hotel part time, and has been working there for 10 years. A perk of the job is getting one free night a year at each hotel chain. Their are 5 hotels and one of them is in Bodega Bay. I am embarrassed to say that after 10 years, this is our first time taking advantage of the free night stay at Bodega Bay. It is my new favorite place. We drove up, explored the beautiful town, and had fun in the pool and hot tub. Then the next day we went on a wonderful bike ride! Gavin and I decided we will never let another year go by without using our free night!

Gavin is so sweet, and loves to write me little notes to let me know he cares. I love my whiteboard. I am obsessed with writing down my daily activites and to do lists. One day when I got home from work I found this cute note on my whiteboard. It was so sweet, and who knew that my daughter was so talented and could write!

Last week when I was leaving work Gavin had stuck a little love note in my car door to suprise me. I have a love note box where I keep them so one day I can show our kids what a good Daddy they have! I am so blessed to have a husband who loves me so much and isn't afraid to show it!

This is for you Alley and Rhett. This is a little tour of our room, the place was amazing. The beach was great for snorkeling and the hotel has 3 different pools to swim in! You will have such a blast, we loved our trip! Just make sure to bring sunscreen and a good book to read!

Homemaker of the year!

I have been trying to eat mainly "Raw" foods for the last couple of months. Raw meaning fruits, veggies, nuts and nothing cooked. It has really helped Gavin and I to eat healthier, but Gavin won't commit to the Raw lifestyle so I make his meals separate. As you can see I don't spend a whole lot of time in the kitchen, but I think it is all about the presentation. So on tonight's menu was a salad with raw dressing, carrots, chicken wings, cookies and a glass of milk. This is not an everyday event in our home, I do this about 3-4 times a week. My husband is so sweet he always praises me like I cooked him a gourmet meal! I am slowly trying to improve my homemaking skills. Practice makes perfect!

Boca my best friend!

I took this 5 minutes ago. Gavin is home with the Stomach flu and Boca is keeping him company.

Her big ears are my favorite!!!

Gavin and I were talking about how life would be without our Boca baby, and we can't imagine our home without her. She brings us so much joy and happiness. When patients at work ask me if I have any children I always tell them I have a daughter, she has 4 legs and a tail. We sure do spoil her like she is our child. A quote that I heard when watching the preview for Marley and Me was really touching. "A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor. Give her your heart and she'll give you hers." That is such a true statement, and that is why Boca is my best friend. Every day without fail, as soon as I walk through the door she is whining and jumping on me because she is so happy to see me. So our ritual is as soon as I get home, I immediately put my stuff down and kneel down and hug her, pet her and then she gets her toy for me to throw. It is one of my favorite times of the day, not matter how my day went I know that Boca is waiting to give me love when I get home!

Sometimes I worry about Boca when we are away from home and Gavin says she is just a dog, but I know he loves her as much as I do. They are always going on walks, and snuggling together. We are so blessed to have her in our family. Thanks Dad, Josh and Liz for helping me pick her out!!!!!

Gavin's 29th birthday!

So birthdays have always been a big deal in my family. We go all out, with breakfast in bed, dollar bills for how old we are turning taped on the wall, lots of fun presents, and a big birthday dinner. For my 24th birthday this year I had a roller skating party which was my favorite party so far. So as November 5th was getting closer, Gavin told me he didn't want to do anything for his birthday this year and I was totally offended. I couldn't believe it, I was so dissapointed that he was acting like his birthday was no big deal. I decided not to listen to him, and I planned a party anyway.
He loves movies, so I thought it would be fun to have a movie themed birhtday party. We invited family and friends to come dressed up as their favorite movie character for a fun night of good food and movie trivia games. It was such a memorable night with our loved ones. On June 17th, 2005 our family was created, and now 3 1/2 years later we have a lot of wonderful memories with many more to come. So blogging seems like the perfect idea to journal our life events, so lets see if I can figure it out!
